Will you stay....

It was 3am. I went in JE's room to change his wet brief.
JE: "Where are we?"
Me:  "We are in G-----d, at M---------e."
JE: "I live here,right?"
Me:" Yes this is your home."
JE: "I am glad you are here. I know that I am going to die here someday. Will you stay with me?"

Taking Care of Babies

 I was getting DA ready for bed.

DA: "Are you getting ready to leave?"
Me: "Yes, in about 30 minutes."
DA: "Do you know how to take care of babies?"

I have a background in Early Childhood Education, I am a former owner of a childcare center that provided care for 60 children ages 4 weeks to 12 years, also a mother of 3 and grandmother of 5. I felt that I was quailied to help her with her "babies."

Me: "Yes D I know how to care for babies, why?"
DA: "Well I need some help caring for some babies. I have a bunch of them."
Me: "Sure D I will help.  What would you like me to do?"
DA: "Just bag the whole bunch of them up and take them home with you.  I
         need to get some rest!"

Beautiful

One evening I was helping  JE to bed.
JE: "You take such good care of me, thank you."
Me: "You are welcome, I am happy to help you."
JE: "You are so pretty."
Me: "Thank you J"

I then bent over the bed to pull the covers up for JE.

JE: "Thank you!"
Me: "What are you thanking me for?"
JE: "I just saw your boobs! You have beautiful boobs!"

I guess my scrub top was a bit too big, so when I bent over and pulled the covers up to his chin, (we all know that elderly people are ALWAYS cold) that he got a peek of my boobs!

I looked at JE with the grin from ear to ear and all I could say is "Thank you."

Oh no...not me

Me: "Hi M, how are you?"

M: no response, this is not unusual.

Me: "I am glad to see you, I am here to help you get ready for dinner."

M: "I am so happy."

Me: "I am happy that you are happy."

M: "I am so proud of you!"

Me: "Thank you, but what did I do to make you proud of me?"

M looked at me as if I were out of my mind.

M: "You don't remember?  "You did it. You became a Nun!"

                                                                             
A big smile came across her face.
She was silent the rest of the evening.
